Dear Doctor,
It is hard to believe that two years have gone by since the idea of setting up this website of the Irish Medical Society was created and the idea of an annual ball considered. The support of David O’Connell, John Grindle and Dermot O’Flynn, not to mention the deposit for Claridges finally got the show on the road at the beginning of 2006. It took the best part of a year to bring the ball in November to fruition. I believe all present enjoyed a memorable evening and are looking forward to the Ball at the Café Royal on the 24th November, which promises to be an even better evening. The aims of the society did not just include the purpose of providing a support and social network for Irish doctors practicing in Great Britain, but also to raise money for charities with and Anglo Irish medical theme. I am delighted that, in our first year we were able to donate £4000 to charity. We will build on this success for 2007.
If you would like to join our mailing list simply submit your e-mail address using the form on the right or click on the Join the Irish Medical Society link and send a blank e-mail; you will then be included in future mailings, informing you about upcoming events. I look forward to seeing everyone later this year.
With best wishes,
Kevin Harrington
